SPIROS PANIGIRAKIS is Head of Fine Art at the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture at Monash University, where he completed a PhD in 2011, and has taught across the Theory Program, Sculpture, Painting and Drawing Departments. He was a finalist in the Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture in 2008 and 2014, and recent solo exhibitions include shows at Sarah Scout Presents (2016, 2013 and 2010); WestSpace (2012); Margaret Lawrence Gallery (2010); Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces (2006); CLUBSproject Inc. (2006); TCB Artist Space Inc. (2003); and 1st Floor Artist and Writers' Space (2001), all Melbourne. Panigirakis was a founding member of the artist-run initiative CLUBSproject Inc. and, in 2014, established Australian Studies a collaborative project with Fiona Macdonald that continues the turn to publication in the work of both artists.
