Hubbard has undertaken numerous residencies including at the Australia Council studios in Barcelona and Paris, and the AIR  International Studio Residency in Antwerp. In 2015, she was awarded the Art Gallery of Ballarat Guirguis New Art Prize. Hubbard completed a Master of Fine Art at RMIT University in 2001 and ia HIgher Doctorate at the Unviersity of Melbourne in 2019. She is currently senior lecturer in  Photography at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne.
